Charles R. Murphy was born in Toledo, Ohio and received his primary education at Maumee Valley Country Day School.  Subsequently, he attended Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin achieving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1983.  In his college years he was active and held many leadership positions in his college fraternity.  Additionally, he was elected to membership in the honorary music fraternity, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

Charles joined The Ashley Group in 2011 as an Employee Benefits Specialist.  His area of specialization and responsibility will be building on his years of experience, by providing comprehensive employer sponsored health benefit solutions to employers. 

He brings with him many years of experience in the insurance industry, first as an agent with Federated Mutual Insurance of Owatonna, Minnesota, and more recently at the Andres O’Neil and Lowe Agency in Bryan, Ohio.  His years of sales and marketing experience have earned him many sales and service recognition awards for his accomplishments. 

In his private life, Charles has been active in the Freemasons organization, and served as Grand Master of the 110,000 Masons in Ohio in 2008-2009.  He is a 33rd Degree Mason and currently serves as President of the Midwest Conference on Masonic Education.  At the present time, Charles serves on the leadership team of Zenobia Shriners in Toledo, and it is anticipated that he will head that organization in the year 2017.

Charles is very proud of his family and attributes his success to their support.  In addition to his wife Zoellen, he has three children: Cassie (Scott) Braithwaite, Price and Sydney Murphy.  Cassie and Scott have two daughters, Stacey and Bridget, and Price and Sydney are completing their education at the University of Toledo.

Charles and Zoellen reside in Perrysburg, Ohio.
